Dr. Oz on foods that affect your mood

August 23rd, 2009 No comments »

Foods can have effects on our mood. Every food has a chemical effect in our body.

A piece of cake or donuts can make you feel sad, depressed. First you will experience an energy boost and possibly a better mood, but afterwards when your blood levels go down, you will also have a “low” mood, feeling tired and fatigued.

Foods that can improve your mood are:

Nuts, 1 banana per day, fish and other foods that contain a lot of Omega 3. You should consider taking Omega 3 supplements, e.g. fish oil supplements.

According to Dr. Oz, Omega 3 can also help you to reduce stress. Fatty fishs and Walnuts contain a lot of Omega 3 vitamins. Fatty fish might not sound “healthy”, but sardine and mackerel are a really great source of omega-3 fatty acids!!

A lack of Vitamin D can also have effects on your mood.

Contact Dr. Oz

August 19th, 2009 No comments »

If you would like to contact Dr. Oz, you can do so via Twitter, Myspace and Facebook.

He is regularly answering questions, but you have to keep in mind that he’s a busy man, so there is a very low chance that someone will respond to you. Most likely someone of his PR team will contact you if you should ever receive an answer via Mail.

Dr. Oz is just like Oprah an active user on Twitter and you can find out what he’s currently up to there.

From time to time he is answering health questions via YouTube. If you have a question that might be a common one, one that is really popular, then he might be able to answer it. Of course Dr. Oz is also answering not so common questions, but I suppose it would make sense to answer common questions first, simply because he can help more people that way.

I believe that Dr. Oz really loves the possibility to help so many people out there and he’s doing a really great job. Let’s hope he will stay with us for a while. His Show: The Dr. Oz Show will premiere on September 15th and will probably be a huge success. I am looking forward to it! We all are!

Dr Oz and Dr Roizen on Depression

Dr. Roizen Quote:

The solution to cure depression might not be in a bottle.

Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen recommend to talk it out first. Learning new strategies how to cope with problems combined with anti-depression drugs can help you to cure depression.

Eating a banana every day and listening to music can help you to improve your mood if you are in a bad mood right now.

Want to hear Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen talk about it?

Here is the video: Dr Oz On Depression

Aside from that here is another tip:

Omega 3 and Vitamin B are essential for emotional health. Taking a Omega 3 supplement or eating nuts and fish can help you to treat depression.

Dr. Oz Diet Tips (TOP7)

August 16th, 2009 No comments »

If you want to get the best dieting results, you should follow a few simple guidelines. Here are dieting tips from Dr. Oz. I also added one myself.

Diet Tips from Dr. Oz

#1 Add high-fiber foods to your daily diet.

You can cleanse your colon naturally by eating high-fiber, whole grain foods. Not all of them taste very well, but it’s worth it.

#2 Eating the same foods over and over again ..

If you do this you will lose more weight. If you have a mixed diet plan then you will lose weight slower.

#3 Replace refined carbs (that store fat) with whole-grain.

This will boost your metabolism.

#4 Eat on schedule 3 times a day plus two snacks.

Will help your body with proper digestion.

#6 Replace foods on your diet plan that you may not like with foods that you like (find a healthy alternative).

You won’t have any success if you don’t actually like your diet plan.

My own tip:

#7 Stay focused.

Formulate a 1-sentence goal that you will be repeat if you are tempted to eat something you shouldn’t. This helped me a lot.

Dr. Oz Quotes

Here are some quotes from Dr. Oz about Beauty:

“The real challenge for us is to … show you how to unveil the beauty that I know everybody has.”

“It makes evolutionary sense to care about beauty. What’s a mistake is to assume beauty is only external. After all, someone may be a knockout, but if she is in pain, lacks energy, is always unhappy or spiritually disconnected, her attractiveness will fade fast.”
