Migraine Relief: Exercising

Exercise to Ease Migraines

I found an interesting article that gives great health tips about treating migraines. Exercising is very important, yet we don’t do it because we are lazy – we have to get used to it! Getting rid of migraines can be achieved by walking 10,000 steps a day.

The relationship between exercise and migraines is quixotic. Science says that exercise, by promoting the regular release of endorphins, the body’s natural pain controllers, should help ease the frequency and severity of migraines. Many migraineurs claim that their attacks are triggered by physical exertion.

Therefore it is highly important to eat healthy foods. The industry makes us believe that we were supposed to eat carbohydrates every day, but we should avoid that. Eating only pasta, pizza and burgers will get you fat and sad. That’s a fact not a threat.

Evolution made us eat veggies, nuts, cereals, fruits and raw foods. Do you really think your body can adopt so quickly to your eating habits although it took thousands of years to get used to the foods that are available in our natural environment?

Dr. Oz’s Diet Plan + Mayo Clinic Diet

September 7th, 2009

Dr. Oz’s diet plan is pretty straight-forward. Walk 10,000 steps a day, eat 100 calories less than you normally would, eat high-fiber foods and avoid the unhealthy foods. In his book he is giving great advice how to customize your diet plan and what foods you could add. Important, never add foods you don’t like. Although I have to say that you can get used to other foods. If you are used to sweet, white flavour foods and other unhealthy food you should just try to eat whole-grain for a while. It doesn’t taste that bad. There’s also whole-grain sandwiches, which are great to get used to whole-grain bread.
What are unhealthy foods? Try to avoid sugar,High-fructose corn syrup, saturated fats (get Omega 3 fats), hydrogenated oil (which is in magarine and other foods that have a long shelf life.
